  Release time: 2018-11-24

“Cross Door Notes” (“Guo Menqian” in Chinese) is a type of Chinese paper cutting art, also known as “Gua Qian”, “Diao Qian” or “Die Zhai”. In the southeast of Shandong Province, every year during the Spring Festival, people stick colorful “Cross Door Notes” on the tops of doorframes. The notes, waving with winds, become a beautiful scene in the first month of lunar year. Sticking the notes is a kind of traditional folk culture.

In 2007, with “Cross Door Notes” in the Town of Yan Zhuang as representative, “Cross Door Notes” of Ju County is the first batch included in Shandong Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

In 2008, it was listed as National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

In 2012, it was included in UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
